About · Simple Pain Relief

You're here because you're in pain.

Maybe you have tried a lot of things already. Maybe your doctor has not found a clear answer. Maybe you are just tired of being told to manage it and live with it.
Here's the thing: pain always happens for a reason. And when you find that reason, you can actually do something about it. Bodies are logical!
What We Believe

Your body is smart.

It followsnatural laws.

When something hurts, there is a reason behind it. Find the reason, address it, and your body can heal.

Muscles and soft tissues are the most common cause of physical pain. And they are also the most overlooked. Muscles do not show up on x-rays, so they often get missed entirely. By everyone. Even good doctors.

We do not believe in just masking pain. We believe in getting to the cause.
And we believe you deserve to actually understand what is happening in your own body. Simple language. Real explanations. No jargon, no confusion.

Who writes here

Credentialed practitioners.
Real lived experience.

Simple Pain Relief is written by credentialed practitioners and people with real lived experience of chronic pain. Every contributor brings something specific.
Every piece of content is written to help you understand your body, not just follow instructions blindly. We explain the why behind everything. Because when you understand why you hurt, the path forward becomes clear. That is the whole point.

Hi! I'm Kathryn.

I have been helping people reduce or eliminate their physical pain since 1993. More than 30,000 therapeutic sessions. Quite a few years. And I am still learning!

I specialise in natural pain relief. Not "pain management." Actual pain relief.
Sometimes the best the medical community can do is help you manage your pain. That is what they learned in medical school. And they do their best. But sometimes there are other options. You will find them here.

"Bodies are logical! I love logic! Once you see it, you cannot unsee it."

I started out as a relaxation massage therapist, because that is what massage schools typically teach. And then everything changed. I attended a workshop with a brilliant instructor from Florida — the founder of St. John Neuromuscular Massage Therapy (now Neurosomatic Therapy). I was mesmerised. Completely hooked.

I took every one of his seminars. Most of them multiple times. I went from a solo practice to building a team of 12 therapists. And across all those sessions, I kept learning what actually works.
Here is the other thing: I dealt with my own pain too. Scoliosis. Chronic migraine headaches. I am not speaking from textbooks. I have been where you are.
I am not a doctor. I want to be completely clear about that. But I understand how bodies get into pain. And I have spent years learning how to explain it in plain language.
My goal is simple. I want you to feel better.

Lindalooks after the site

Hi, I'm Linda. I hold a Bachelor of Science with a major in Microbiology and Laboratory Medicine, and a minor in Pathology and Laboratory Medicine.
I live with hip dysplasia and sciatic nerve pain. I also dealt with carpal tunnel as an artist. Working with my physio on ergonomics sorted it out. So I understand firsthand that pain has practical solutions.
I bring two things to this work: a scientific understanding of how the body functions, and the real experience of what chronic pain does to daily life. I review content across Simple Pain Relief for scientific accuracy and make sure everything is current and genuinely useful.
I love learning about how the human body works!

And what we don't

No scare tactics. No miracle cures. No medical claims we cannot back up.

Explain the why
Behind every tip, not just the what.
02
Use plain language
Always. No jargon, no medical-school vocabulary.
03

Tell you when to see a doctor
Some things are not for self-care. Your body matters and the next steps should be clear
